Handwoven Tea Towels
There are names for some groups of animals that bring me no end of amusement. A murder of crows. A cauldron of bats. A parliament of owls. When I see a stack of neatly folded towels, I believe with all my heart they should be called a gluttony. Given they are destined for the kitchen, it seems appropriate.
Tea towels are among my absolute favourite things to design and weave, as it is an infinitely practival and non-committal way to bring a pop of colour into a home. While I do, on occasion, make matching sets by request, what I love most is coming up with a base design and then setting my imagination free as I weave. There is nothing quite like putting on a single warp and pulling off 15 towels that, while part of the same family, are all quite different from each other.
The towels I weave are soft, thick, and absorbent, making them a pleasure to use. They are 100% cotton (i.e., washer and dryer safe) and make fabulous (and affordable) gifts.
