Drops of Jupiter

Both incredibly simple and ever so slightly otherworldly in the feeling it invokes, this print was perhaps the one that most helped me discover and define my “special sauce” as an artist. It represents everything I strive for as a printmaker - the design is simple, balanced, visually pleasing, open to interpretation, and versatile as a home decor piece.

This print is designed to fit a 16x20” IKEA frame, with a roughly 12x16” mat opening. Print colours vary throughout the edition. Limited edition of 24 prints.

Dawn Treader

One of my personal favourites, this is the one print I kept from my Kickstarter collection, now reworked in a more “realistic” cruising direction and turned into an edition so I can share it with others. I love it dearly because everyone seems to see something different in it and I delight in hearing all the varied associations this brings up for people. Imagination is a beautiful thing!

Bloom

This print started as a mountain lake but it wasn’t turning out as I had envisaged it. It did, however, spark another idea and after adding a lot of texture (and a little something-something on the side), it bloomed into a prickly desert “rose” that has brought me no end of delight. This is one of the prints I just can’t stop printing in vastly different colour combinations. I have yet to find one that disappoints.

Snails Pass

This print is inspired by the Los Caracoles Pass (or Snails Pass in English), a twisting mountain road in the Andres mountains, on the border of Chile and Argentina. It may not be travelled at a snail’s pace but it sure makes for a pretty picture!

Rainy River

Abstract landscapes are some of my favourite things to dream up and are often some of the most satisfying, as I relish the challenge of simplifying shapes and editing the composition until the image is just right (or, rather, I relish the moment when it finally happens…getting there is another story entirely!). Rainy River is my nod to the magic of water and the special beauty that can be found in the shallows.

Smelly Cat

This floral feline is inspired by a vintage stuffy from a local thrift shop, the infamous song from the show Friends, and my own furry beast who likes to come home decorated in sticky burrs from the neighbours’ bushes. It may be a smelly cat but it’s one you actually want to smell! Now if I can only convince mine to come home covered in flowers and not prickly bits we spend an hour picking out while he loudly complains about the indignity…

Happy Trails

This print was born from a happy accident, when leftover linoleum from another print I was working on started looking at me funny (i.e., resembling something that reminded me of something). That something was a sassy prancer of a dog, and with some intentional shaping and added detail, it turned into quite the Disney dog, as someone so aptly referred to it. Coincidentally, a friend of a friend had adopted a rather spirited rescue dog around the same time and is now the proud owner of the very first print in this edition.

Fountainhead

This is another print that really gets the imagination going when people try to pinpoint what exactly it reminds them of. I know what I was thinking of when I pulled that first test print but I won’t spoil this game for you unless asked.

April Showers

This is my smallest print, designed to fit an 8x10” IKEA frame with a 5x7” mat opening. It is inspired by the time I spent living in Canmore, which has the most adorable pest problem: bunnies. Not the hares. We’re talking fluffy, adorable household bunnies that escaped someone’s cage and now pop up all over downtown Canmore come spring in a multitude of colours. I would often go “bunny hunting” in the evenings or on weekends, usually spotting anywhere at least a couple dozen sprinkled on lawns and in small thickets. it is one of my fondest memories and now memorialized in print form.

Armchair Traveller

This print is designed to fit a 12x16” IKEA frame, with a roughly 7.5x9.5” mat opening. The design is a nod to the tiny house movement and a homebody’s dream. Wouldn’t it be incredible to always have instant access to a private, cozy den that has all your creature comforts and none of the pressures of the outside world? I certainly think so!

Wollypop

This print is designed to fit a 12x16” IKEA frame, with a roughly 7.5x9.5” mat opening. As a fibre artist (and a handspinner who actually works with raw fleeces on a regular basis), this is my humourous take on how you go from sheep to yarn. I often find myself wishing it really were that easy! What a fun field day that would be! If you have a fibre lover in your life, they will appreciate this whimsical take on reality.

Don’t Let Wool Pass You By

This print is designed to fit a 12x16” IKEA frame, with a roughly 7.5x9.5” mat opening. This design is the sister to “Wollypop” and an alternate interpretation of where wool comes from. In this dream world, you simply walk out with a basket on a cloudy day and wool rains down from passing sheep clouds. If you are a knitter, I bet you’d love to live in that world (or at least visit often)!
